Reina Flores-Hansen is a visionary with more than 24 years of experience in educational leadership. She is known to work with purpose, to build capacity and skills, to plan and support continuous improvement, to communicate goals, and to motivate others to action.
Mrs. Hansen holds a Bachelor’s of Arts in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Psychology from California State University of Long Beach, a Master of Arts in Education/Counseling, a Master of Arts in Business Management and a Master of Arts in Administration from Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, California.
Most recently, Mrs. Hansen holds the position of Assistant Director of Alternative Education for the Norwalk La Mirada Unified School District. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Door of Hope Youth and Family Resource Center for the Community of Norwalk.
Mrs. Hansen has many years of experience as an educator working in a variety of public and private settings with diverse student populations from kindergarten through graduate school. She has served in a number of roles such as teacher, counselor, assistant principal, special education resource specialist, coach, administrator, emergency management and adjunct professor. Her responsibilities and expertise include: systems change efforts, counseling, social emotional strategies, instruction design, federal programs, “at risk” behaviors, prevention, intervention and college/career advisory. This experience gives her a deep appreciation for the nonprofits that seek to improve the quality of life for all, one person at a time.
